Polonnaruwa town and its nodal points known as Polonnaruwa , Kaduwela & New Town are growing fast as Heritage City, Commercial City and Administrative city respectively. It has been observed that this town is catering for over 80,000 people daily and this number is likely to increase rapidly.
Scope
Town Development Project proposals envisaged to implement well planned Circulation System Commercial Development, Heritage Conservation & Tourism Development and Environmental and Landscaping developments projects. The identified projects are as follows

The tentative estimated cost (TEC) for the project is Rs. 16,250 Bn and it is proposed to obtain same from the General Treasury. The initial cost for the preparation of Survey Plans, Preliminary project designs etc will be borne by UDA. This project is a National Priority Project for the development of infrastructure in the Heritage City Commercial City and the Administrative city of Polonnaruwa.
